PYE House

This house project responds to the challenge of meeting a young couple need for a house where they can start their own family.

The house was built on a very narrow and deep lot, with a large infill building. We decided to lean the house against it but keeping distance from it by means of a patio in the upper floor, which allows the entrance of natural light from the center of the house towards the rest of its spaces. We also decided to open it to the front, to the rear and to the lateral separation, intensifying its visuals to the exterior.

The house is organized in two floors. In the ground floor, the hall, living room, dining room, kitchen and services are located. The upper floor is organized in two sectors: the area for future kids and the area for the couple, both connected by an internal patio and a green terrace.

Having in mind a ventilated house integrated to nature, we use ventilation and natural light, strengthened by the internal patio located in the upper floor and a green terrace.

Sustainability of the house is granted by an implementation of different sustainable construction techniques, taking into account the sun and wind orientations, natural light in all spaces, fresh and cross ventilation thanks to water mirrors, green terrace for insulation of ground floor and collection of rain water for irrigation.
